I think I know why you're not seeing much through your scope. It probably needs collimating, and you need decent eyepieces. If your scope can take standard eyepieces ( the barrel maybe too small...0.96" as opposed to 1.25" ), you need to get a few 1.25" eyepieces. For a 4.5" scope like yours, I'd grab a 26mm, 9mm and possibly a 40mm. That'll give you a good spread of magnifications for general viewing, plus if you have a decent barlow, it'll give you some extra grunt when it can be used. You might even want to throw in a 15mm eyepiece as well, to give you some medium power.
Once you learn how to use the scope and get some observing under your belt, you might want to even try taking some piccies through your scope

You'll need a better mount, though, than the one it already has. Plus a few extra things....but that's for a later time
The eyepieces that came with your scope are not good eyepieces...in fact they'll be barely usable. SR (Ramsden) and K (Kellner) eyepieces are types of achromatic lenses which have poor fields of view (FoV) and cause distortions to the images you see...the Kellners are the best of these type of eyepieces, but they're still of rather low quality. The type of eyepieces you want are called Ploosls...they're an apochromatic design which elliminates any colour fringing and corrects for image distortion. They generally have wide FoV's and excellent image quality. Plus, they're relatively cheap, depending on which brand you buy
Hope that helps
