February planets 2010 7 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 5
Jupiter ... The King of the planets has dominated our night skies for ages but is now sinking into the western skies after sunset.

Saturn is rising late in the eastern skies in Virgo. Saturn began retrograde motion in January, which continues until May, and is at opposition next month.

Venus is not viewable early in month, but reappears later in the month in our evening skies.

Mars is the eastern sky, moves from Leo into Cancer. It reached opposition on 30th January, but is still easily recogniized as a brightish red disc. The faster moving Earth is now passing by Mars, which causes the planet to appear to move westward rather than the normal eastward direction. It is pretty close to M44 at the moment (Feb3).

Mercury in in our pre dawn skies, starting in Sagittarius. It is easier to find that what you think, so give it a try.

Neptune alas, not observable at the moment

Uranus is very low in the west then is to close to Sun to be seen

No full Moon this month.
